Two days of exploring Olympic NP - towns, resupply, tenting, trails.
6/17/17 - Snow started at 3860' with crossing a few avalanche gullies. Continuous hard snow started at 4000' all the way to summit block. Last 200 feet of snow was steep & hard. Crampons required. Summit block itself is snow free. Biting flies on the way up - bring repellant.
Successful summit, washout between Lena Lake and climber's camp. Trail pretty well-marked with flags up until the burned trees past climber's camp. Established bootpath above burned trees at snowline. Ascend via the rightmost gully to the ridge.
A traverse from Unicorn past Foss to The Castle. This trip did not include a climb of Unicorn itself.
Great weather and dry rock between two rain storms.
Successfully climbed Little Tahoma in between two major storms. Conditions were perfect!

Still mostly snow but getting thin in the Source Lake basin.
We had 2 rope leaders and 4 basic students. We used a rope teams of 1 leader and two followers and it worked out just well. Everyone made it to the summit efficiently.
Beginner backpack to Ipsut Creek Camp with side trips to Lower Crossing and Green Lake.
Great conditions today, firm snow on the way up, soft enough on the way down, some fun glissades. Great views from Anvil rock, beware of huge cornices.
Fine hike on a good trail through second growth woods. Starts along the top of Lake Cushman and then follows a very old road up along Dry Creek. The usual turn-around is the ford of the creek. The trail does continue on the other side.
Trails are in good shape and crowded. Hiked with legendary Olympia climber Tom W.
Took an off trail route up the south ridge direct then returned via the trail.
Great time well spent on an unexpectedly nice day in beautiful Hammersley Inlet.
Rattlesnake Moountain Grand Traverse, one way east to west (Rattlesnake Lake to Snoqualmie Point Park)
