Excellent trip in diverse weather
Another fun day exploring tides and currents in beautiful Hammersley Inlet
A beautiful and great place for a moist forecast, the rain shadowy NE portion of the Olympics, with intermittent sun and snowflakes.
When the forecast is for rain, snow, and wind, this seemed like a good alternative: a low elevation scramble that is mostly on trail and mostly in the protected forest.
Trail is in great shape overall but a bit overgrown near Wagonwheel Lake. No issues with staying on course though.
Wonderful area to see larch trees, although we were about one week early. Some of the trees were only starting to turn, one week later will be better.
Nice approach and climb once out of the trees.
Easy 4 pitch climb on breccia tuff. Long drive (3.5hrs) from Seattle.
Late season scramble in marginal weather conditions. Snow on scramble route to North summit beyond saddle created unsafe conditions. Team turned around at that point> Otherwise a safe outing enjoyed by all.
Fall colors were at their peak in our after-hours scramble of Abiel.
Successful climbing larch outing in Sawtooth-Chelan Wilderness Area (Star, Courtney, Buttermilk, Oval).
A lovely, trip up a solid trail to cloudy views across the Teanaway.
Excellent hike up Buckhorn Mountain by way of Marmot Pass.
Great Trip. The Mountain gave us one more summer day in late September.
Bears encountered at 5,100 snow encountered 5,800. Bottom 3/4 of ice covered by up to 8 inches of snow.
Successful climb of Whitman Crest via Frying pan glacier
