A very long 18 mile/18 hour day up Kyes Peak, involving complex navigation and bushwhacking but also gorgeous views and scenery
Long 1 day to 3 Rainier 100 peaks: Andrew Benchmark, Tokaloo Rock, and Aurora Peak
A strenuous, yet fun, North Cascades outing! Great conditions.
A very strenuous but gorgeous, immersive, and varied alpine traverse to areas seldom visited by other humans. A trip with the flavor of a Bailey Range - Olympus traverse, but much shorter at 3 days, that included stunning vistas from Gray Wolf Ridge, a challenging but relatively low hazard ascent of Mt Deception (2nd highest peak in the Olympics), and a downhill visit (the best kind ;) of the majestic Royal Basin on our return to civilization.
We had a change of plans so instead we went to Little Si because one hiker didn't have the correct shoes. It was a very fun hike nonetheless.
Nice shaded hike with a great view of Snoqualmie Valley.
Great Trip! Awesome Wilderness! Glacier Travel! Ton's on animals and plant life! If you haven't tried Gaia GPS for iPhone or Android you need to check it out on your next trip (replaced my GPS completely with offline maps on Gaia)
B3 overnight of the Ozette triangle, campsite at Yellow Banks
Turned around since a member of our party was struck by a very large rock on approach.
Great trip but beware of heat and sun exposure above the tree line, there was absolutely zero wind even at the highest point. Bugs were an issue in the morning and afternoon but relented in the evening. The B-17 crash site is an amazing experience, but don’t plan on spending more than 30 minutes due to mosquitoes.
Exciting trip that involved a tough backpack in on a hot muggy day, followed by thunderstorms at night, another thunderstorm before we even got started climbing, a challenging scramble of Del Campo... but we had fun!
The weather was perfect for our paddle and coastal hike.
The Summer route is in full force, go early and avoid the heat, there is still lots of water available so you can carry less and bring a filter .
I stepped in for Andy Cahn as leader as he injured his ankle the prior day. Beautiful hike to summit then much tougher conditions from there.
End of July successful 2 day climb of Clark / Walrus Glacier.
A fun, safe and successful climb of the Disappointment Cleaver route on a blustery summer weekend.
The much miss-understood Pigeon Peak, a challenging scramble for those serious about the Rainier 100. Not that far and not that high, just a whole lot of brush.
