Asgaard Pass and Little Annapurna out and back.
A great first intermediate climb.
Beautiful autumn outing in the North Cascades.
Moderate hike to a nice lookout with good views.
We attempted to climb both Fortune and Ingalls Peak. Fortune went, but Ingalls did not due to recent snow.
We set up a car shuttle, then paddled one way from Arcadia to Kennedy Creek area, where we took out.
Three day larch scramble outing in the beautiful Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness area (9/29-10/1). Summits: Switchback, Martin, Cheops.
Successful scramble. Fall colors were bursting!
Mellow scramble this time of the year with lovely views and colors.
Beautiful fall colors, ran into the first snow of the season at the top. Saw many different kinds of mushrooms. A few huckleberries still on the bushes to pick! This is such a fun hike with varied scenery: quiet forest trail, the Denny Creek waterslide, two waterfalls, talus slopes to cross with tantalizing pika chirps, berry bushes, crossing Hemlock pass then down to a beautiful Alpine lake with views of Chair Peak and others.
Strenuous one-day scramble with beautiful fall colors
Great trip, lots to see along the way.
Trip of 9/29/18: This is one of my favorite scrambles, the trip's reputation as being rife with "loose rock" notwithstanding. There are a couple of short, unavoidable sections of loose dirt or scree, but the rest of the trip can be conducted on safe, fun, and solidly-settled boulders and bedrock for those familiar with the route.
A good day of racing, with a solid start and first leg. Second leg? Eh, not so good. I blame the wind.
All participants completed the hike and made the summit without issues. Great fall colors.
A beautiful fall traverse through alpine meadows, alpine tundra, and lush forests.
