Surprising Solitude on Squak Mt. It was a beautiful evening for a hike.
Great day out on the flanks of the "mother of waters". We headed out to Little Tahoma as a party of three for some skiing. Ended up being a 13h36 c2c day with a little shy of 17 miles of travel and 7.6k of vertical gain. We took the "low" route for easy glacier travel. No summit as we turned around ~100ft vertical shy of it due to the advanced hour, our level of exhaustion and the fact that the remaining choss looked utterly unappealing in ski boots. Great continuous skiing was had on the Whitman glacier.
Pivot from Shuksan to the Gardners for good weather. Got that weather...plus a lot of bushwhacking to get the skis back to Gardner Meadows.
Great trip around Bainbridge camping at Brownsville Marina.
Walk through the Union Bay Natural area observing birds and other wildlife.
A nice workout with expansive views (listed under Mutton Mountain due to its proximity and popularity for Winter Scrambles). A hike in the summer, the substantial snows still remaining make this a great winter scramble of ~16 miles and ~4000’ gain using the Ranger Creek trail.
Successful climb of Colchuck NBC
A 2 day trip through the San Juan islands, camping on two beautiful islands, and using tidal currents for considerable boost through most of the route.
A great hike! Lots of variety, views, wind and wildflowers. Also, plenty of poison oak, but it wasn't overgrowing the trail.
We really liked this hike! Great views (even with low clouds) and variety. Lots of wildflowers. Very popular, so you won't be alone!
Fantastic if not windy end of week single pitch fun!
Eleven mile loop of Blanchard Mtn from East lower trailhead minimizing crowds, visiting Oyster Dome and Samish Overlook
A stunning hike through the hills just outside Wenatchee. Fields of flowers abound during this time of year and our hike leader, Richard DeBois, timed this hike perfectly. Every turn in the trail revealed a new view of amazing color. It got warm (81 degrees), but a nice breeze helped out.
A walk in the woods on a warm spring evening.
Early-mid season climb via Palmer Glacier/Pearly Gates
Six Olympia and two Everett Scrambling successfully completed a snow scramble on a nice weather day.
Encountered snow at 3'400, consolidated and firm. Put on snowshoes around 4'500 for the final push up the ridge.
