Summited Jack Mountain via The South Face in 3 days.
First time hiking as a mountaineer and the experience was wonderful (friendly, fun, interesting). The hike was beautiful and had a great destination.
Beautiful fall colors right now. A lovely, mellow hike anyone in fairly decent shape can do.
A Fall hike into gorgeous Blanca Lake. Index-Galena Road is open again and the trail is in reasonable condition. A well-used and rooty trail with a jade-green lake at the end.
Spectacular scenery, golden larches in the fall, and views of Mount Stuart. Truely a backcountry route with rugged steep and rocky trails and some route-finding required!
A fun scramble with lots of variety in terrain, grippy rock, impressive views, and gorgeous fall color.
An easy and short climb to nearby Hermans Peak is well worth it for better views of all the nearby lakes and peaks, especially if a stop at Mt Pilchuck is not on the agenda.
Easy day run to summit and back on alternate route. Lots of berries, wildlife, and views. Totals are 19 miles, 8,600' of elevation gain, with 2.2 miles and 1,700' of elevation gain for the off trail section.
It was a beautiful morning. The huckleberry leaves were brilliant red. The larches had not turned yet. Maybe another 10 days.
A fun fall day on the water, a race and a raft-up
Beautiful, challenging backpacking and scrambling
Short moderate hike with some steep sections for interest in sunshine for autumn colors to a lake in the Alpine Lake Wilderness.
Wonderful fall weekend with a pleasant overnight and surprisingly great weather in the Entiat basin.
Fun day out scrambling in our favorite park!
Strenuous uphill climb, but as a reward, wonderful views of Mount Rainier from the seldom seen southwest. A plethora of mushrooms.
Fun scramble of Kendall Peak filled with beautiful fall color, great views, and a side trip to Kendall Katwalk.
A foggy evening at Lake George and a socked in view at Gobblers Knob Fire Lookout gave us opportunity for Plan B the next day. As a backpack leader it's a great thing to set the "flexibility vibe" early when on a trip.
Crisp fall weather, some fall color, and amazing views of Mount Rainier
Great fall trip - Nimbus scramble but not Thunder due to severe change in weather for the worse! Lake was very pretty and commanding 360’ Mountain View’s!
