It had been a long day but we were all satisfied that it had been well spent in good company on beautiful Hammersley Inlet!
I led a group of 7 CHS-1 students on a beautiful early morning hike with 16 bird species, 3 dozen rescued slugs, an encounter with a geocacher, and we were down to the cars by noon. Doesn't get any better!
Two-day climb of Mt Daniel via the Lynch Glacier.
Climbed the Classic Route on Unicorn Peak in great conditions. Summit has a brand new register.
This is a premier spring scramble. The lollipop route we took offered grand views of jagged snowy mountains in all directions.
A fantastic climb and a successful first summit for a strong group of Everett Basic students up Mt. Baker via Coleman-Deming route.
Successful summit of Mount Baker via the Coleman-Deming route with the Everett Mountaineers as the graduation climb for BCC. Camped at Black Buttes (7,150 ft) after a whiteout approach on Saturday; summited Sunday morning in clear, cold conditions with firm snow and minimal wind. Glacier travel was straightforward on excellent firm snow; total time from camp to summit was 5 hours.
This scramble had it all (except for glissades). A peaceful forest walk, gorgeous views, steep snow, fun rock, great company.
Little Si is a nice short hike with 1,200 feet of elevation gain to a nice lookout of the Snoqualmie Valley. Parking lots were full and there were many visitors on the trail, but there was still plenty of space to share a group snack at the top.
A Lacey city park in a greenbelt flanked by a golf course and suburban subdivision provides a surprisingly woodsy walk and a touch of history. 2.5 miles and 100' elevation gain according to Caltopo app on a cell phone.
Two nights and three days at Big Log camp on N Fork Skokomish trail. Day hike to Flapjack Lakes.

Excellent snow scramble to Alta Mountain. Had the place to ourselves!
A superior showing by 6 CHS-1 participants, averaging 2.5 mph moving pace / 2.2 overall including a 35-minute Lipsy Lake visit where climbers wowed us above the lake. 7:10-12:15 meant lots of dogs and 35-40 people coming IN as we finished.
Good intro to surf for new or experienced kayakers.
Basic Alpine trip up Mt. Lincoln's NE couloir with an overnight stay at Mildred Lakes
Mild sunny day on the Iron Goat trail. Lots of tragic history, wildflowers, butterflies & lush vegetation.
A beautiful evening to hike to a gorgeous view of Snow Lake and surrounding peaks.
