A medium effort Winter scramble with varying degrees of difficulty depending upon route selection. It would be a challenge to be successful if a significant amount of trail breaking is required.
Some icy hard pack on the inner loop side, outer loop has less snow and much less hard ice. Doable but recommend yaktrax or similiar and poles until we get a good melt out. Pkg lot was melted out, no problems accessing TH
Beautiful mountain and sea views on a very strenuous winter scramble (~12 mi, ~6,000 ft) that visits First Top as well as Point 4795 above Lake Angeles. This shared outing is made possible by utilizing portions of the Heather Park Trail as well as the Lake Angeles/Kalhane Ridge Trail which both begin at the Heart of the Hills parking area.

Turned around at the top of Pitch-1. Thin ice and poor snow conditions. Maybe too early in the season.
Brilliant sunshine and deep powder snow made for a beautiful trip, though pushing through the snow was laborious enough that we declared ourselves satisfied with a loop over Cairn Hill.
