Dry cool weather and good visibility made for a great post-Thanksgiving urban hike.
Insufficient snow at Narada Falls and limited snow at Reflection Lakes. Diverted to Paradise, where snow was also not deep, but allowed us to complete a snowshoe trip.

What a glorious day to enjoy the nature in West Seattle! We saw many seabirds from our vantage points along the shores of Puget Sound and had a beautiful walk in the temperate rainforest of Lincoln Park.
Started at lower falls hiked to upper falls. Detour around closed area. Intermittent snow on trail, muddy in spots. One large tree over trail requires a scramble over or around.
Paddled round trip from Owen Beach to Thea Foss waterway along the south shore of Commencement Bay.

Early snowfall made us the only visitors to Hurricane Hill on this 12.2 mile, 5500’ gain winter scramble. Clouds parted on the summit ridge affording stunning views.

Classic Fall scramble. Carried snowshoes, ice ax, rope etc., but snow melt/freeze made route slower and friendly starting 5300'. Scramble conditions from ridge to Lookout Tower (6800') and true Peak (6900'). Virtually no avy risk 1.5+ mile traverse from ascent valley to Tower.
