Fantastic help from Todd and Renee. I really appreciate the time every volunteer has taken to demonstrate and help us practice safe behavior on kayak in water.
Snow Field Trip for Sean / Kelly SIG along with Marcey/Jim Nelson's SIG. At the Common wealth area of the Snoqualmie Summit area
Summit Central Snoqualmie Mountain
An exciting day of racing, with four starts, three races, and only one DNF.
Excellent, fun trek to the top of Mt. Rose today with mostly blue sky.
Excellent night of sailing with a SW wind of 7 to 12 mph in Commencement Bay.
We practiced paddling in surf, sailing, rescues with sail, paddling along coast in swell, group communication, stove operation and safety, tarp set up, bear safety, bear hang, and such.
The hike has been nicely done with help of participants and a mentor. The expected rain was not hard to hike. The weather was typical April Northwest rainy day. The trail condition was excellent with new parking and bathroom, good trail marks for direction at the junctions. The falls was beautiful with water fall due to the amount of water by rain.
Intended destination Evergreen Mountain Lookout rerouted to Arrowhead due to avalanche conditions.
We hiked up Black Canyon to Umtanum Ridge, topped out at Rattler Benchmark and made a loop along the ridge back to Black Canyon.
A safe choice for a high avalanche danger day and enough elevation to find some falling snow.
When it is scheduled to rain everywhere else, a hike in the rain shadow of the Olympics is in order.
Memorable but crowded! Read the detailed report for guidance on where it's best to stay in refugios vs. camping and how to book the refugio and camp tickets and transport.
A brave foray through rain, hail and snow cleared into a beautiful summit adventure with great pictures!
Snow is virtually gone, and the trail is in great shape (for what it is). Nice weather, beautiful forest, and mule deer.
An early season, after hours scramble up the NW ridge. Started at 2200' and made it to 4750'.
