Gorgeous views in all directions (especially of Mt. Constance), and a welcome pandemic workout on this 5K’, 7 mile Winter Scramble from the Dosewallips River Road.
Beautiful 12.1 nautical miles paddle to a Private Island - it was worth going by the ship wrecks (ships sunk in early 1900s), we saw regular marine life (may seals, et al) along the way.
Winter Wonderland on a snowed in Forest Road. Made it only to Lake Eleanor - Adding 8 ish miles of road walk to the TH out and back
In later October, we used blustery winds on a four-day sea kayak trip to paddle around this island.
Snowy trip. Issues with parking at steven's pass resort.
Early winter scramble of Moolock Mountain.
At approximately 1:30pm on Nov. 9, my sister Melissa and I were on a hike with my Labrador Blue on Cooper River Trail headed towards Cooper Lake. About a mile from the lake, we turned a bend in the trail and came face-to-face with a cougar.
Surreal and complex geologic landscapes, plus winter wildlife snow prints (deer, fox?, bobcat?, rabbit) on this ~12 mile/~4.7K’ gain loop.
On 10/31/20 the road to the TH was free of snow.
Trail is in good condition. Minimal water and mud on lower trail sections. Last 0.75 miles may require micro spikes for traction as ice is present on trail.
Great hike and great group! Beautiful, sunny, crisp fall day. Clear views of surrounding peaks and Annette Lake.
13 - 16 pitch 5.9 Grade IV rock climb of one of the most renown routes in Red Rocks. Slab pitch start, three pitches of sustained chimney, crack and fun face climbing make it a must do in the Red Rocks area.
Enatai beach was almost totally blocked by construction, so launched at Gene Coulon Park instead.
A last chance to visit Burroughs Mountain (3rd, 2nd, 1st) with a greatly reduced volume of other parties (Sunrise road closure, winterish white-out conditions). A great loop (13 miles, 4000’) which included White River Campground, the trail to Glacier Basin, Burroughs, and Shadow Lake.
