Beautiful day, some vegetation, a snow covered talus field and 360' views all around
We climbed the S Arete of SEWS in 14 hours car to car on May 22 2021. Group of eight; there were 22 total on the route that day and we shared resources at times. Grouse, pika, and goat sighted. We made good time on our approach, we were slow to climb and scramble when snow was present, our descent was well organized and quick.

A beautiful day's strenuous outing with views all around
Not many travelers for a Sunday morning. Birds sang to us along the trail and a Barred Owl spotted next to the trail to showing off their quiet beauty. Lots of wildflowers spotted by our naturalist hikers.
We were a week late for skiing the west gullies of Earl. Mary and Judy east slopes still had good skiing. Coverage starts at about were the Earl peak trail leaves the Bean Basin trail (1500m elevation) Visual scouting of the gullies from that point showed that 200 vft of hiking would be needed to reach snow from the summit and while there was enough snow in the 2nd to most northern west facing gully to "go" it was quite narrow at the choke point. So we opted to ski the east aspect slopes of Judi and Mary. Bean creek crossing very easy on massive pile of avalanche debris filling the creek for a 1/4 mile from the crossing up to gully from Judi's shoulder.
Our group walked the long paved trail that parallels Market St. through the wetland and then returned to the main part of the park before following both boardwalks to the edge of Lake Washington.
This was a trip with a focus on identifying animal tracks & sign, in partnership with Conservation Northwest. We traveled across the Cascade Crest above the Snoqualmie Summit ski areas. Involved scrambling skills, but no summit. Connected between Beaver Lake, Lodge Lake, Divide Lake & Hyak Lake.

warm, sunny day. dry and shady trail up to Poo Poo Point. Good trail condition. Some steep sections. Good conditioning hike due to elevation gain/distance. Many paragliders taking off.
