Conditioning Hiking Series hike to Greenwater Lakes was a success! Portions of the trail were snow-covered, but the trail was easy to follow.
Good close in hike, has many optional routes depending on trail conditions. Some views of Olympics and Rainer and a waterfall!
This was more of a winter hike than a trail run, and could still be done as a snowshoe on a good part of the route.

We had a great hike up Mailbox today going up the old trail and coming down the new.
From Arcadia we launched at around the time of max flood at Totten entrance, 8:30 a.m. We paddled to Little Skookum Inlet and followed it to the end, exploring a bit into the creek. Then returned for a total of 16.8 nm.

Picture Lake is a very fickle location for photography but a few times a year it gets good. To capture it really good it takes several years of absolute dedication. Summer and Fall are very popular with tourists as well as photographers. This was almost a good day if not for the occasional blow that rippled the surface.
