A fantastic day on a Cascade classic with four people getting their final climb completed for the Bellingham BMC.
Awesome day with great snow conditions top to bottom with a not so sufferable approach/exit!
Good trail, few bugs by lake. Smoky air until near upper lake where breeze took it away. Take plenty of water if it's a hot day or hiking later in the day.
Success on the second annual EMSK Bridge to Bridge paddle! This year we went west to east, from Bowman Bay to La Conner. A fun, 10.6-nautical mile paddle with eight enthusiastic (and mud-resistant) EMSK members: Cathie F, Karen S, Michelle M, Charlie R, Maria E, Dewet P, Rebecca S, and yours truly.
Big beautiful lake worth the work to get there. We had the lakeshore to ourselves. Ripe huckleberries, thimbleberries & strawberries.
Glacier peak via North Fork Sauk trail. Three day itinerary cut down to two, leading to a 25 mile hike out over 21 hours.
Counter-clockwise loop around the Kachess Domerie ridges.
Quick scramble up Red Mountain via Commonwealth Basin.
6 of us from CHS-1 had the trifecta of awesomeness: ripe berry picking, an hour for wading, swimming, and socializing at Rainbow Lake, and two less common birds, an American goshawk and a belted kingfisher. What an awesome way to beat Seattle 90's heat.
A great easy-paced walk around the park with several nice views of the Sound.
We followed the standard route starting at Lake Washington Playfields and finishing at Stan Sayres Park. A car shuttle was set up to facilitate getting back.
East side of Church Creek Trail: rebuilding a switchback turn.
Outstanding lakes and berries on a relaxed itinerary
A double-Bulger trip with summits of Goode Mountain and Storm King
This was a private climb but I am posting a trip report here given the lack of it for this climb. TFT was no joke. It was a true test for alpinism, decision making, route finding, problem solving, determination, and grit. We did it in 2+ days. It was a beast and an unforgettable experience.
CHS 1 hike that included portions of Hemlock, Huckleberry, Raptor Ridge, Lost Lake, Rock, and Chuckanut Ridge.
We hiked to the summit of Frog Mountain . The views were great of Glacier Peak and Monte Cristo Peaks. Wildflowers were in bloom .
Beautiful day at Rachel Lake, trail surprisingly uncrowded given the number of vehicles in the lot.
