I took my dog on a 4-mile ramble from our home, clockwise, through Hamlin and South Woods parks to check how the woods are doing following recent floods and winds. Excellent drainage.
Tolt MacDonald Park hike that turned into a Snoqualmie Valley hike.
Well, not really a snowshoe (they stayed in the car), but a nice snow tromp.
Launching from Boston Harbor, we circumnavigated Squaxin Island in a counter-clockwise direction, stopping at Hope Island for lunch .
Cancelled due to flooding throughout the area and more rain forecasted for the coming week.
My husband and I grabbed a few quick hours of birding - 41 species - that included 19 trumpeter swans, 50 wood ducks, 54 double-crested cormorants, and 3 woodpecker species. Beautiful clearing in flooding time, a welcome reprieve.
A field trip with two locations, flat walking conditions and lots of bird action.
Gorgeous mid-week, rain-free hike with the falls at near record flow.
Lovely giant loop between rainstorms - not a drop - to Debbie's View, Bullitt Fireplace, and Central Peak from May Valley. High spirits and fun for all.
Hike was to Tubal Cain Mine and the old aircraft. Did not go to Buckhorn Lake due to wildfire smok.
This is a well organized event. There were several lectures and talks on a variety of outdoors-related topics. The pace was just right, with time for socializing with other leaders from all branches.
A wonderful trip with varied conditions and lots of wildlife. Swans, otters, seal, ducks, geese, herons, egrets and eagles were viewed. We had flat calm, mirror-like conditions, 10kt winds with 1' waves, sun breaks, rainbows, heavy rain and large ship wakes at times during the day.
Between NSLC sessions at noon, I took my dog for a 3+ mile loop birding in the wetlands and waterfront. High winds limited our access to 24 species and nothing on Lake WA in the time we had.
Canceled Mountaineers trip due to number of participants. We went anyway.
Perfect autumn day for this lovely forest hike that I never get "tired" of!
Hoping to dodge rain (and succeeding) I took my dog for a solo 4.2 mile "nubian" ramble (long ears showing loops on my track) all around and through Shoreview and Boeing Creek for just under 2 hours. We had 14 bird species and the only ones out were dog walkers.
Nine GoWalk students and instructors delighted with opening and upgrade to Marsh and Foster Island boardwalk on misty Friday morning urban walk.
Day hike through the Enchantments core, from the Stuart Lake trailhead to the Snow Lake trailhead.
A fun trip around McNeil Island from Sunnyside Beach Park in Steilacoom.
