A moderate 8.4 mile round-trip day hike up the West High Divide Trail with 3,860 feet of elevation gain. You can also hike out the ridge or head down to Damfino Lakes. Either way, you'll enjoy an incredible walk through wildflowers with Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan in view.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
A moderate hike of 6.5 miles round trip with 1,500 feet of elevation gain northwest of Mount Baker. Enjoy flower-filled meadows and views of Mount Baker. Considering extending your journey on the East High Divide Trail going as far as Welcome Pass.

This roughly 10 mile hike with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain starts at the Welcome Pass trailhead. From the pass, you can hike out the ridge and back or continue on to complete the Grand Traverse. Either way, Excelsior Ridge delivers an incredible ridge walk through wildflowers with Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan seemingly close enough to touch.
