Scrambling
A challenging winter scramble trip from Scenic, north of Highway 2 and west of Stevens Pass. It's 3 miles round trip and 3,200 feet of elevation gain.

A hike along barren, blasted ridges to a pumice plain on the northeast corner of Mount St. Helens with incredible views of the Cascade volcanoes and surreal terrain. The terrain is exposed with very little shade.

The trail starts with a series of wooden steps north up the side of Windy Ridge. At this point you have a view down into the crater of Mount St. Helens. Continuing along the Truman trail on ridges above and with good views of Spirit Lake.

Moderate alpine rock climbs from 4 to 12 pitches of 5.8 and harder near Washington Pass. Climb on the famous Burgundy Spire, Chablis Spire, Chanti Spire, Paisano Pinnacle, and Whine Spire.

Photography
Wynoochee Falls will entice you to spend more time than you’d expect on a half-mile round-trip hike. The falls are pretty, and the pool at the bottom is nice for wading. There is a gravel bar that is perfect for picnics, and there are some good rock scrambling options.
