Getting its name from the eastbound lane of I-90 views, The Tooth is a classic rock climb on solid rock. It has a few low 5th class moves and an airy “catwalk” traverse on a four inch wide ledge that is a particular attraction. The climb is popular and can be very crowded. Time: trailhead to summit 5-6 hr. It's a great first alpine rock climb.

From the enchanting town of Avalon traverse the island along the 40 mile Trans-Catalina Trail to the small village of Two Harbors.

Eight miles apart on the south shore of Hood Canal near Belfair, these two area provide great opportunities for easy hiking and exploring nature.

Third Beach is an easy, 3.6 mile in-and-out day hike or backpack with 280 ft in elevation gain. Start off on an old road trail through forest to the rugged beach and a scenic falls.

A snow and/or rock scramble of 9 miles with 3,000 feet of elevation gain in the northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park.

Third Mother Mountain is a scramble of 6 miles with 3,500 feet of gain.
The food court at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park makes for a nice informal meeting area for small groups.

A winter or early spring scramble of 10 miles and 4,000 ft of elevation gain near Easton and Kachess Lake.
Canyoning
A steep creek in North Cascades National Park near Newhalem that features a fun triple slide at the top and 10-15 rappels up to 200 feet each. Many rappels are directly in the flow and several require crossing pools while on rappel, making this a technically challenging canyon.
Day Hiking & Scrambling
A strenuous, 10.6-mile in-and-out day hike with 3,300 ft in elevation gain. The trail goes up steeply through forest to a rocky outcrop with amazing panoramic views of Mount Triumph, Mount Despair and the Picket Range.

Photograph old mill equipment, belts, tools and much more in the original building built in the late 1800's. Inside and outside of the building make good shots as well.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
An easy to moderate, hike along Thorp Creek and up to a lake and then on to lookout. The trail boasts of a steep flower meadow in the summer and bright fall colors in the fall. The rustic gable-roofed Thorp Mountain Lookout, built in 1931, offers stunning views of Mount Rainier, Mount Stuart, Mount Daniel and the Dutch Miller Gap peaks. It's 6-10 miles and 1,200 to 2,300 feet of elevation gain.

A classic Cascades volcano climb in Oregon that gains the south ridge and ends with about 200 feet of 5th class climbing. It's 12 miles round trip and roughly 3,000 feet of elevation gain.

A strenuous hike and scramble to a historical lookout in the North Cascades off the Mountain Loop Highway.
Packrafting
The three forks of the Flathead River are the centerpiece of the Bob Marshall and Great Bear Wildernesses and offer remote and wild boating with several options for technical difficulty.

A private, nicely furnished, off the grid cabin near Randle, bordering the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and about an hour from Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, and Mount Adams.
Scrambling
Three Way Peak is located at the border of Mount Rainier National Park and the Crystal Mountain ski area. It is a challenging scramble. Though the route is largely on trail and footpath, the final ridge approach has modestly challenging rocky outcroppings and some exposure on the summit block.
