Bluebird day on Unicorn, route is in good condition
We successfully summited Meany Crest on June 1 with a strong team of four, navigating blowdown, patchy trail, and firm snow conditions. Despite icy slopes and missing crampons, we made excellent time thanks to teamwork, efficient breaks, and a solid boot track. Clear skies and fun glissades made for a rewarding day—topped off with milkshakes in Greenwater!
Five scramblers attempted a close-to-home rock scramble and just managed to beat the rain coming down from the summit block
Successful early season ascent of SEWS via S Arête
Fickle weather added a layer of interest to this spring snow scramble of Mount Ruth.
Trip objective was to practice and reinforce glacier travel skills and crevasse rescue on a real glacier and live crevasse.
A long, windy day on the Coleman-Deming glacier followed by a spicy summit push to a Mount Baker sub-peak. Gusts and crevasses were in no shortage.
Fun climb, short approach, slabs with an occasional hand jam and finger cracks.
A perfect relaxing day. Saw a grey whale at the launch, lots of birds, interesting old houses, Camano's Statue of Liberty, very few other boats, and Mount Baker was shining in all its snowy glory!
A glacier climb of Mt Baker sub peak, which gets a bit interesting towards the end

Climbed Mount Anderson via Eel Glacier over the Memorial Day Weekend! We had a solid crew and checked many boxes on this climb: biking 6 miles with a heavy pack, fording knee-deep creek, and climbing a prominent peak in a remote part of the Olympic NP. We also ran into a cute black bear on our hike out.
A fun climb to help Michael Walther check off the last remaining peak on the Cascades Volcano peak pin.
12+ mile shuttle from West Elwah TH to Madison Falls TH in three parts: West Elway TH to Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook, down through the old Lake Mills lakebed along the Smokey Bottom Trail to Boulder Creek and back up to the dam, and out the old Olympic Hotsprings Road.
A CHS-2 led hike by Todd Cleland that took 7 up to the base of Si Haystack via Teneriffe Trail and back in a Lollipop loop via Roaring Creek. Atmospheric fog and rain made for a beautiful hike.
I scouted the trifecta of lakes on a picture-perfect morning, 14 miles/3500' in just under 6 hours. Trillium blooming in mass quantities. The hills are alive with the sound of birds - 29 species.
