The weather was perfect for our paddle and coastal hike.
The Summer route is in full force, go early and avoid the heat, there is still lots of water available so you can carry less and bring a filter .
I stepped in for Andy Cahn as leader as he injured his ankle the prior day. Beautiful hike to summit then much tougher conditions from there.
End of July successful 2 day climb of Clark / Walrus Glacier.
A fun, safe and successful climb of the Disappointment Cleaver route on a blustery summer weekend.
The much miss-understood Pigeon Peak, a challenging scramble for those serious about the Rainier 100. Not that far and not that high, just a whole lot of brush.
Entire group canceled, most citing forecasted temperatures in 90s/hottest day of the year. Not worth the risk of heat stroke. Since there is interest in this destination I will consider reposting.
This trip was attended by all registered participants. No incidents were reported. The weather was hot, but participants drank plenty of water to stay hydrated. We practiced plenty of rescue techniques which helped to stay cool. Many of the participants gathered at Johnny's Dock Restaurant for social hour and debrief at the completion of the trip.
This was a pleasant trip on a beautiful (but hot) day.
We enjoyed dinner outdoors with a view on a hot evening.
A fun, safe and successful climb of the Coleman-Deming route on a great PNW summer weekend.
The trails were in good shape. A few blow downs on the Mt. Baldy Trail, but easy to get around.
They came early but we had a good hour of navigation and bouldering.
The flowers were between blooms; the avalanche lilies were past and the paintbrush were just starting. We arrived at 9:30 to about 10 vehicles. We returned at 2:30 to twice as many vehicles. Trail was buggy but not as bad as I've seen it. The Lake Eleanor camp is closed due to hazardous trees.
Lovely and easy approach on the PCT and the views from the summit are awesome, but the climb itself was mediocre.
