Good conditions. No picketts or snowshoes. 2-4 inches of crust on fair ice. Scrape it off and use screws all the way. Snow free approach. Road rough but passable. Fog obscured decent recommend following GPS track. 11 hrs 45 minutes car to car. Record for branch. We weren't fast but we weren't lost. Cold in AM.
Early Sunday morning trip with - No hikers, no views and no sun. But a 3.5 hours round trip. Planned as a conditioning scramble. One student graudated.

Traveling up to the ridge between Silver and Tinkham, followed by a traverse over both of Tinkham’s peaks and a descent to Mirror Lake, makes this do-able as a scramble in wet weather.
The open book and the ledges to its right were still wet, so we opted for a detour.

A great rainy day way to stretch your legs, as well as checkout the first part of the Lookout Dome - Storm King Traverse. After early season snow prevented access to our earlier alternate (Deer Park/Grand Ridge), this 18 mile/3,500’ trip provided a great workout with views of the Hughes Creek Drainage.
Hiked Goode Ridge trail instead due to Purple Pass trail being closed due to proximity to fires.
