A 4-day (5 nights) 40 miles and 14,000 ft traverse from Pole Creek Trailhead to Three Creek Lake Trail head with ascents of Middle, South and Broken Top along the way. Two nights camping at the base of the Middle Sister by Soap Creek, then a day of backpacking to Green lakes and two nights there. One day climb of South Sister via the East Climber’s Route and then a carry-over climb of Broken Top followed by a long traverse on the north side of Broken Top to connect to the Tam McArthur Rim Trail and descend back to Three Creek lake.
Excellent one-day Basic-level trip to tag multiple summits in the Tatoosh range. 7.5hr car-to-car with a relatively fast group. Fantastic views of Mt. Rainier and south Cascades on a clear day.

This was a nice trip to two summits that are among the 200 highest in Washington. There were good views of other nearby summits as well as some of the peaks across Lake Chelan, but clouds obscured the more distant views.

An excellent alpine experience in the Olympics with a little bit of everything: groomed trail through movie-set like old growth (check); idyllic camping in flowered meadow (check); 2000 ft plus elevation gain through talus/scree hell and steep snow (check); fourth class rock finish with heart-stopping views (check).
