Hit the small weather window that gave us the perfect conditions for Mt Stuart. The few inches of new snow made the trip a little more interesting.

We ascended the WNW ridge of Bean, descended the ridge running to Volcanic Neck and exited via Beverly Creek.
Beautiful weather on this late summer hike to Crystal Lakes. We began hiking at around 9am, spent about an hour at the lake (including a short walk around the lake), and were back at the cars by early afternoon. It was a successful enjoyable day.
A gem of a scramble that includes a bike approach to the old mining townsite of Monte Cristo followed by a hike to the beautiful Glacier basin and a super-fun rock scramble to the peak with stimulating route-finding. Trip rating 4 only because of moody weather.

Although the original plan was to climb Longfellow Mountain, the weather seemed to be getting worse, so we turned around at Poe Mountain. However, back at Irving Pass, we decided to give Irving Peak a try, and that worked out well.

Enjoy some of the most scenic sections of Pacific Crest Trail from Cady Pass to Kodak Peak. Went in counter-clockwise direction camping at Meander Meadows and Pass Creek.
