Enjoyable outing. Brian did an excellent job co-leading.
A mild and sunny day on opening day of the Bald Eagle Interpretive Center in Rockport. We saw very few eagles, about 2 dozen, and a gaggle of common mergansers.
A beautiful day in the snow on Mt. Rainier with an amazing group.
Excellent condition and camaraderie, trail gets busy pass mid-morning.
As Charles Dickens said, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”, just like this trip to Arthur Peak. A morning with perfect cold/dry conditions, followed by an afternoon of very wet type two fun.
A quick, steep and damp hike up on a Middle Fork day hike rarity.
Stellar Summit of Shasta - with a perfect road trip from Seattle. We had a perfect weather window in between two snow storms.
Close looks at wintering birds. Good birding no matter what weather.
Wonderful Scramble to one of the Tallest volcanoes in the Southern Oregon Belt
This Walk is a loop route in Carkeek Park . We had great views , including from the Beach . The Beavers were active with a dam on the creek .
A fun day in the snow. Never had so many backup plans before, but we found a safe place to snowshoe in a storm.
Cold and blustery with blue skies and clear views of the distant mountains. Some snow on the ground at high elevation; microspikes helpful.
A less traveled route above the Middle Fork valley to Absolute Last Promontory. Trail is easy/moderate but water crossings on Lower CCC could be a challenge in high flow. DNR has plans to install many bridges.
One mile loop with beach walk, suitable for small children.
Stunning views and an unseasonably low snow cover (for late November) on this one way traverse of Comet Falls and Mildred Point, with a return via Rampart Ridge and Point 4100. A great workout at 13 miles/~4000’ gain that included lengthy breaks at Comet Falls and Mildred Point.
Great weather, great party, snowshoes were not needed due to near-freezing temperatures and rain/melt/freeze crust that mostly supported us.
Bikepack from Dosewallips trailhead to lower campground. Set up camp there and then bike to upper campground and return
