Day Hiking
A moderate, 7 mile round trip hike with 1,700 feet of elevation gain. The trail ascends the upper White River valley through forest, past mining relics, flower meadows and ends in glacial moraine with views of Mount Rainier and Saint Elmo Pass. Make it a challenging loop trip by hiking up to Sunrise across Burroughs Mountain and looping back to the White River Campground through Glacier Basin.
Sea Kayaking
Sea Kayak in scenic Glacier Bay and use the bay as a starting point to or an ending point from other locations in the Alaska Panhandle like Sitka and Juneau.

Glacier View is an easy, 4 mile in-and-out day hike with 900 ft in elevation gain. The trail cuts through stands of alpine forests and sunny meadows to a former lookout site.

A 12.5 mile RT trek from Obstruction Point that dips down into Grand Valley, passing Grand Lake, Moose Lake and Gladys Lake along the Grand-Pass Trail.

A moderately easy 7.2 mile hike with 300 feet in elevation gain. This is a hike on the Olympic Hot Springs Road from Madison Falls, where the road is blocked, to the Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook that features the remnants of the once Glines Canyon Dam.

Enjoy seasonal colors of abundant wildflowers, alpine larch, and occasional wildlife sightings including bears.

This trail is in the Mount Saint Helen National Monument and winds through old growth forest and foliage that survived the 1980 eruption. The easy trail of 5 miles round trip and 400 feet of elevation gain leads to the base of Cathedral Falls and then winds behind it. It's a perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with a plunging waterfall.
Backpacking, Cross-country Skiing, Day Hiking, Snowshoeing & Trail Running
Three winter trips near Crystal Mountain and Mount Rainier National Park from Forest Road 7174. Hike three miles to Goat Falls, a pleasant introduction to snowshoeing or a mild winter hike. Travel a challenging ten miles on the long and winding Forest Road 7174 to Corral Pass on the Cascade Crest. The long but steady climb is mostly a moderate grade, and because the road does not traverse any avalanche slopes, it makes for a safer route to the high country in wintertime. The campground, only open in summer, makes for a fun destination for backcountry winter camping and has sweeping views of the Norse Peak Wilderness.

A great sea kayak trip near La Conner in the Skagit Delta with lots of wildlife, possible hiking, and "shoot the ladder" if the tides are right.

Goat Island Mountain is a moderate scramble with great views of the northeast side of Mount Rainier.

A moderate, 10 mile hike with 1400 ft in elevation gain. Hike uphill along Elliott Creek through old growth forest, past cascades and McIntosh falls to reach a large alpine lake with views of Cadet Peak.
