Climbing
A scenic climb on the Pemberton Icefield in Canada's British Columbia coast range. While moderate in its technical climbing aspects, the route and surrounding summits are heavily glaciated and seldom climbed. This provides a climbing solitude not normally possible on glaciers in Washington.
Sea Kayaking
A good starting point for South Puget Sound kayaking trips and clinics, Arcadia Point is located near Shelton. The vicinity offers many short or long trips.
Day Hiking
This easy to moderate trail is 12 miles round trip with an elevation gain of just 500 ft but taking you to 5,200 ft at its highest point. Enjoy rolling hills, old forests and rock bluffs along this section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.

Day Hiking, Trail Running, Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
An easy 5.5 mile hike with 50 feet of elevation gain north of Everett. There are interpretive signs about the airport history and views of Mount Pilchuck and Glacier Peak.
Backpacking, Day Hiking & Trail Running
This scenic loop in the northwest corner of Mount Rainier National Park is great as a moderate backpack or a challenging day hike or trail run from Mowich Lake. An out-and-back trip to Ipsut Creek Campground and the Caron River is shorter option.

Around South Tiger (and maybe to the summit) is a moderate, 7 mile in-and-out day hike with 1,600 ft in elevation gain. The trail hikes through old-growth forests to a scenic waterfall.

Arrowhead Mountain is a scramble of 6 miles with 3,000 feet of gain.
Scrambling
Arthur Peak is a winter scramble near the Carbon River in Mount Rainier National Park, with 3,470 feet of elevation gain. Most of the trip is in mossy old-growth forest, so in winter, it is relatively avalanche-safe terrain.
Backcountry Skiing, Day Hiking, Snowshoeing & Trail Running
A moderate snowshoe and hiking destination at Mount Baker, with panoramic views and easy road access. A classic trip, with outstanding views and typically quite deep snow. In summer, after the road is plowed past the Mount Baker Ski Area, parking is available at the top. In winter, it's a 5 mile snowshoe to the top with approximately 1,100 feet of gain. In summer hike from Artist Point to Huntoon Point or Table Mountain.

A short loop walk through one of the last remaining stands of old growth in the Snoqualmie Valley.
Canyoning
Asbestos Creek is a beautiful canyon on the south slopes of Jumbo Mountain in the Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. It is an intermediate canyon with steep terrain, back-to-back rappels, long pitches, and stunning views.

Day Hiking
An easy 5.5 mile hike with 800 feet of elevation gain. Surrounded by sphagnum bogs and primeval forest tucked in a quiet corner behind the bustling Mount Pilchuck, Ashland Lakes are the showpiece to the Washington State DNR's Morning Star Natural Resource Conservation Area.

Urban Walking
This is planned to be a 3-3.5 mile urban walk that is flat and paved all the way. It starts and ends at the Auburn Outlet Mall. The route includes a short section of the Interurban Trail and a tour of downtown Auburn that will take in an outdoor sculpture gallery.
Scrambling
August, Virginia, Berry and Martin Peaks are treed summits that can be combined into a trip with 4,030 feet of elevation gain in ups and downs over 8.6 miles. Views are limited but offer a different perspective on the area west of Mowich Lake in Mount Rainier National Park.
