Backpacking
A backpack to visit up to a few lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. First to reach is Waptus Lake and the on to Spade Lake, a lovely, lonesome lake nestled in a rocky cirque high on Mount Daniels. Because it's a hefty hike to access, it is one of the most remote lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
Day Hiking
Waptus River is a moderate, 12 mile in-and-out day hike with 500 ft in elevation gain. The trail heads up the river through a deep and scenic valley, optionally to Waptus Lake.
Climbing
An alpine climb with a 9 mile approach on trail, snow, scree, and a short, Class 4 rock pitch, that ends with an easy scramble to the summit. Enjoy glorious views of the seldom visited north face of the Olympic Mountains' Mount Constance. Be alert for rockfall in the gully between the south and north peaks.

Climbing
A great introductory big wall climb! It's Grade IV and 10 pitches rated C1 5.8 that includes free climbing, aiding a roof, a short pendulum and bivying on the plush Dinner Ledge. This can be a crowded route but you'll enjoy great views of Half Dome and the Yosemite Valley.

Naturalist, Trail Running, Urban Walking & Urban Adventure
The University of Washington and City of Seattle jointly manage this 230-acre arboretum along the shores of Lake Washington. Discover an assortment of plants found nowhere else. The Graham Visitors Center contains an information desk and a gift shop and the Japanese Garden is located at the south end of the arboretum.

Enjoy an easy walk on the beautiful trails in northern section of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. Walk from one of the many trailheads surrounding the area or walk rom Washing Park through town to the community forest.
Packrafting
This is an excellent whitewater run of about 6.5 miles with a mix of class 2 and class 3 rapids, mostly along a paved rural road in southern Clark County Washington just outside the town of Washougal. It has numerous eddies, surf waves, and several access points from the adjacent road. The put in at Vernon Road is somewhat difficult due to a steep riverbank. The takeout is easy at a county park with a concrete boat ramp.
Day Hiking
A 153-acre temperate rain forest and city park located in Olympia. It supplied nearly all the city's water from privately established wells in the late 1800s. Hike the 2-mile loop trail from any of the park's five access points.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
A park with 120 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy strolls to strenuous wilderness hikes. Located in the Canadian Rockies, it is a Unesco World Heritage Site, an International Peace Park, and a Biosphere Reserve with spectacular scenery, wildlife and year-round recreational opportunities.
Scrambling
A fun hike and scramble just outside of Leavenworth that offers outstanding views into the Enchantments. High clearance vehicles are an absolute must.
Climbing
A moderate glacier climb of 7,195 feet to the highest peak in British Columbia, Canada's Garibaldi Provincial Park.The climbing route rises above Wedgemount Lake with spectacular views of neighboring peaks in north of Garibaldi.
Part of the North Seattle Cooperative Preschool System, this community serves youth ages 1-5 years old.
Canyoning
This gorgeous and highly-technical intermediate canyon likely could be done in a very long day with a strong team - take note that an early start, strenuous day, and a headlamp exit are likely in your future. Strong route-finding skills required for a potential dark approach and exit.

Climbing & Scrambling
Near the aptly named Thousand Acre Meadows are the enjoyable scrambles of Wellesley Peak and Sentinel Peak. With respective rankings of 42nd and 47th highest in the Olympics, they are worthwhile destinations for the long approach to the Hayden Pass area.
Canyoning
The So-Bahli Alhi Glacier on Whitehorse Mountain drains into Wellman Basin providing substantial and reliable flow, making it a good late season canyoning route. A long day out, best accomplished with a gravel bike to cut down on the approach and exit.
Snowshoeing
An easy, 6 mile round trip snowshoe with 400 feet of elevation gain. The route follows an old dirt road along the ridge of the Wenatchee Mountains.
Day Hiking & Trail Running
A multi-use trail system of moderate difficulty that travels through the rolling foothills and shrub-steppe west of Wenatchee. Enjoy beautiful wildflowers in spring. Trails are open to hikers, bikers, horses, and dogs on a leash. Trails and areas include Balsamroot. Castle Rock, Horse Lkae, Saddle Rock, and Sage Hills.
