The 110 acre park provides habitat for songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, amphibians, turtles, beavers and other small mammals. Interpretive signs are located throughout the park. Juanita Bay Park features paved trails and several boardwalks.

Backpacking & Day Hiking
A moderate hike just northeast of White Pass leads to 28-acre Jug Lake, one of the largest high alpine lakes in the William O. Douglas Wilderness. According to Backpacker, "from the overlook above Jug Lake; the swirling, whistling winds here mimic the sound of air passing over a jug's mouth."

Jumbo Mountain is a scramble of 8 miles with 4,500 feet of gain.

A 7.4-mile round trip hike with 1,550 feet of elevation gain near Rimrock Lake out to a fire lookout with incredible views to the east and west. The original lookout was built in 1923 atop a large plateau above a wall of basalt columns.

An 8.5 mile loop hike with 2,100 feet of elevation gain in the Teanaway near Malcolm Mountain, Johnson Mountain, and Teanaway Butte. The ridge dividing the North and Middle Forks of the Teanaway River offers solitude and views of the peaks along the county line and the Stuart Range behind them. It is just far enough east to escape west-side rain and relatively low enough to offer snow free hiking in the spring.

Backpacking, Day Hiking & Scrambling
This is a 12.8 mile backpack loop hike starting from the south end of Lake Kachess, following the Kachess Ridge Trail, taking the Silver Creek Tie connector and then back via the Domerie Divide and Easton Ridge Trails. This loop offers “sprawling alpine meadows” and some great views of both Kachess Lake and Cle Elum Lake.
