Five-mile loop around Discovery Park. From the north lot, we looped around the park, including some time at the beach.
My dog and I encountered 26 bird species on a 2.6 mile / 422' perimeter walk down the North Ridge and up the South Ridge. For optimal birding, I recommend going at dawn; there's so much manmade noise mid-day that it hinders the enjoyment of the birdsong.
This was a relatively flat trail in a beautiful area. Everyone showed up in a timely way, and we enjoyed a beautiful day.
My dog and I enjoyed 25 bird species and a muddy walk through Cowen Park and Ravenna Ravine. The take-away species were four woodpeckers and a barred owl; skunk cabbage and bleeding hearts are in bloom.

A beautiful day on a local mountain with soaring views of Rainier and the Snoqualmie skyline of peaks. Sunny and pleasant. Not hot enough for insects, a great temp to be scrambling.
