Great scramble, incredible views all day, very tough and very rewarding. Route in great shape: trail peters out a bit at the "frog pond," but the Summitpost.org beta for this trail is helpful in figuring out where to continue on, as are occasional ribbons and cairns.
Great trip. Great leader. Great folks on the scramble.
Rainy on Friday. Sunny on Saturday. Cold and windy.
Camped at Sandy Camp on dry ground, filtered water from pools nearby. Minor crevasse end running on route which is in good shape. Followed the boot track/trade route climbers right side of the Roman wall. IMG & Mountain Madness were guiding groups on this bluebird Sunday. Strong, well trained group.
loop trip using the torment creek approach and return via the standard route. standard route in perfect condition. also did the dorado thimble aka pt7733, a very fun scramble.
Shoreline paddle from Sunnyside Beach to Sequalitchew Creek near Dupont, WA
Deep Lake variation instead of camping at Tuck or Robin Lake makes the trip less strenuous and even more interesting and enjoyable. You can still venture to Tuck & Robin Lakes if so inclined and motivated.
Hiked counter-clockwise from Reflection Lk TH (no bathrooms). Mazama ridge had a few hikers until we reached the Sluiskin falls area and then is very busy with hikers from Paradise.
Wow the views! Wow the flowers! Short and steep
Successful on both summits
Superb climb with perfect weather.
Great conditions, fun group but rock route more chossy and less clean than expected.
Easy hike to a great abandon camp site on the Dosewallips River.
Road 77 is in better shape than it has been in recent years. Appears some improvement has been completed to support timber operations in the area. Many many bolts have been placed all over this mountain. We ignored them and climbed the route with traditional protection. Anchor chains and an chain rappel anchor have also been placed. While not strictly necessary, they are an option, if desired.
Hiked up to Silver lake Saturday afternoon after getting lucky with a great parking spot in a very full parking lot. Very busy at the Lake, and an amazing weather window. Great weekend!
Clouds on saturday gave way to a bluebird day on Sunday... Sloan is a great summit for peak-spotting!
Great night photos with the milky way over the Stonehenge were taken by some people. Most ventured off on their own after we broke camp.
Long hike that curiously has no off-trail sections, except for a 400' T-5 scramble. Pretty much like doing Mt Si Twice, (but with killer views).
The climb is mostly a high end scramble. Very enjoyable and can be done in one day.
