The climb was pretty consistently steeper than I am used to having learned back country skiing on the east side. Lovely country and a fun day despite deteriorating conditions between storms.
Short trip avoiding avalanche terrain.
This was to be a snowshoe trip to Lake Valhalla but due to avalanche concerns it was changed to East Peak of Rattlesnake Mountain.
Conditioner from Big Creek to Mount Ellinor Winter chute (a.k.a. avalanche chute).
The east side opened up in a nice way for our trip. Splashes of sun throughout our trip played across the landscape.
A pleasant overnight snowshoe to MTTA High Hut with great company but few views due to cloudy weather.

Hah, we had moonlight, killer city views, a blustery bluff walk and good company for the 2 hour tour of South Magnolia. No rain, painterly clouds and views far to the south and west.
Wonderful weather, nicely groomed trails, and a great attitude by all led to a great trip. We skied from Kahler Glen to Lake Wenatchee State Park and back.
