A pleasant way to spend a day in a peaceful, scenic setting with little boat traffic.
Was a great trip and even though the area was undeveloped it was an easy hike. There was mud on the trail and puddles here and there. Probably waterproof boots a must. The kids loved the muddy puddles though. Parking was not great but we made do. When the park is more developed in the next few months should become a great hike for families.
A pleasant evening despite the rather limp sunset. We were able to photograph new spring green, ducks, silhouettes and the lake. Even some fancy dogs. Two people cancelled the day before and one no-show.
Trip rerouted from Damnation given snow level reported by ranger, limiting road access.
Great day with sun, snow and people. The route was not challenging but beautiful. Fun downhill on the way back to the John Wayne trail.
A full trip roster enjoyed this hike's great mix of wider social trail, just enough elevation gain to get your heart rate up, and prize photo op at the top. We headed up just after 8 a.m. and, with breaks, were back down at about 11:30 a.m.
A Double Si conditioner with a timed first leg (under 2 hours) up the new trail.
Another fine day on the water. Holding our 2nd Place standing in the series.
The "back" way up to Windy Pass, great nordic skiing conditions.
while the weather was questionable, it was just the two of us in a winter wonderland.
Mt Angeles Winter Route attempt.
Great weather, good snow, fun group and fantastic views. The winter route snow chute was a bit of a plunge stepping or snowshoe sliding suffer-fest on the steeper sections, but the summit was well worth the effort.
Loop route approaching Arthur from North returning along Alki Crest and boundary trail to cars
Challenging and enjoyable conditioning hike in sun and snow.
Gorgeous views of pristine North Fork Soleduc valley and Mount Olympus beckoning beyond on this 9 mile and 5000’ elevation gain trip.
While this destination was our second choice, changed from Castle Bump in the Tatoosh due to avalanche conditions, we had a fabulous time at this Plan B destination.
A walk up road 6830. The ridge was out of reach.
Beautiful sunny day with 12” of fresh, powdery snow to play in
Turned around at bottom of Zipper because of 40 CM of loose unconsolidated new snow and late start.
