Early season scouting trip to gauge conditions - the route goes!
Successful climb in difficult conditions.
This was a leisurely trip from the lower trailhead via the winter route.
Sunshine was delayed but the cool day fueled a splendid hike.
A beautiful hike full of mosses and lichens to see and the sounds of waterfalls and the rushing river to hear. Roads in good shape getting to the trailhead.
A nice breezy day of buoy racing. I'm sure we got first in our division.
Trail has mostly been cleared of fallen trees, with just one remaining that can easily be climbed over. It's still quite muddy.
Beautiful evening for a dinner party by the falls.
Spring storm slog and overnight
Early start on 4/14 to catch a weather window. Crusty snow/ice up to the top.
Wet, wonderful 3-day backpack into the valley. Not too many humans. No bears.
A wonderful rainy hike to all three Wallace Falls.
Easy, flat hike to 2 lovely falls.
No snow remains on trail - very well maintained trail system. Be sure to have map, as junctions can be confusing.
Spring is still at an early stage on the north side of Umtanum Ridge.
