A rare sunny day to and around a lovely alpine lake with 6 inches of soft, fluffy snow over a hard crust.
Superbowl Sunday! Trailhead was nearly packed with cars. People were out in force to appreciate the fine day.
Gorgeous views of Lake Crescent on Happy Lake Ridge. A brisk day that began wet/blustery, but became calm and cooler in the afternoon.
Trail is 98% snow free, lots of small branches and a few small trees over trail. Creek was raging. We were lucky and no rain or wind that was predicted. Few people on the trail. Great nearby hike, dog friendly, easily accessible.
A good day outdoors, in spite of light snow and rain conditions.
A really pleasant paddle on what turned out to be an unexpectedly niceāand rainless!-- day. Photo credit: Barb Motteler
Due to forecast rain and warm temperatures in the Snoqualmie Pass area -- we toured in the Blewett Pass area and found good conditions.
The hike was easy and the views were spectacular. Nice trip when you just want to get out and enjoy the snow.
We completed five loops on this hike in the Union Bay Natural Area and Laurelhurst including stairways to Lake Washington beach areas. The views were limited by weather conditions and rain was light.
Top roping at Deeping Wall and a run up Rambles.
Low expectations, high rewards
Winter scramble to Sam Hill Peak departing from the Stevens Pass Nordic Center. It was storming on the low lands, but this turned out to be an ideal day in the snow.
Honored Martin Luther King Jr. yesterday in the Columbia River Gorge with our sister club, the Mazamas.
