Beautiful evening for a hike through the woods. We watched paragliders take to the air as we ate dinner.
We hiked to the summit of Mount Baldy with great views of Lakes and Peaks . There was snow on the upper ridge , and presented no route difficulty. Wildflowers were beautiful .
Fresh snow and varied weather conditions made for an interesting day day out on Silver Star via the Silver Star Creek route.
Excellent snow coverage starts a bit before the summer trail begins. Ski descent of Inter Glacier was very good although the snow was a bit wet and sticky.

Successful early season overnight climb
Route is still in good shape, though a moat will open up at the last saddle in the next few days. It was still bridged when we crossed but we could see it thinning and a place where it looked like someone had punched through. We turned around at the base of the summit block in a whiteout with snow falling and winds gusting to 25+
Great climb with some of everything - class 3 and 4 scrambling; steep roped snow travel; short rock climb. Do this in 3 days (not 2 - unless you really, really want a long day)!
