What a glorious Veteran's Day adventure to Grand Prospect with 10 bird species, a fleeting rainbow, super cool spider webs, and VIEWS between storms. Couldn't have asked for better.

We enjoyed a sociable pace to the summit. We encountered steady snow on the trail approximately elevation 5,800'. The weather was clear, and the wind was brisk. All trip members did great.

Our original plans to backpack in the Blue Mountains of southeastern Washington were thwarted by snow. After a frantic and exhaustive search, we chose the one spot in Washington that promised to be dry and below the snow line. It was an excellent choice.
A good hike in the forest with fall color. We had a good time and were done before the rain came.
Beautiful early-season snow (about 3 inches) left us with pleasing photos and foliage-freeing beyond the Thompson/Granite junction. Snow started just above the "waterfall" so plan accordingly with poles/traction devices.
West Craggy Peak via tarn at 6,600. Camped and had a relaxing trip over a three-day weekend in the Okanagan National Forest and Pasayten Wilderness.
