A less traveled route above the Middle Fork valley to Absolute Last Promontory. Trail is easy/moderate but water crossings on Lower CCC could be a challenge in high flow. DNR has plans to install many bridges.
One mile loop with beach walk, suitable for small children.
Stunning views and an unseasonably low snow cover (for late November) on this one way traverse of Comet Falls and Mildred Point, with a return via Rampart Ridge and Point 4100. A great workout at 13 miles/~4000’ gain that included lengthy breaks at Comet Falls and Mildred Point.
Great weather, great party, snowshoes were not needed due to near-freezing temperatures and rain/melt/freeze crust that mostly supported us.
Bikepack from Dosewallips trailhead to lower campground. Set up camp there and then bike to upper campground and return
Spectacular sunny and calm weather and rising tides made for an amazing and mudflat free day in this often difficult area. Saw plenty of birds and even got to see an ad hoc air show put on by a pilot on a WWII fighter. If there was a result choice for "super successful" this would be it. Photo of our crew by Dan Hale, taken from his viewpoint above Utsalady Bay.
A clear, crisp wintery day with blue skies, a mild breeze, and captivating snow covered landscape made for a successful summit and an all-round gorgeous day in the mountains.
Crystal clear day with great views as we did our post Thanksgiving conditioner on Tiger.
A fun mellow Friday snow outing with a fantastic weather
Excellent conditions for this never-before kayak sailing trip
Urban Walk, mostly on forested trails. Almost feels like a hike, except for the few parts walking sidewalks thru neighborhoods. Cool artifacts.
From Brackett's Landing in Bothell to Log Boom Park in Kenmore, with a side trip up Swamp Creek and a stop in the new Kenmore Paddle Park. We were rewarded with many bird sitings and several seaplane crossings.
Connector trail from Ira Spring TH is nice alternative to access Dirty Harry's Peak trail. More strenuous than Bird House trail, but IMO, more interesting.
A spectacular November day in Mount Rainier National Park.
A fine Fall day for a hike along the river.
Dry, sunny fall day. Trail is rockier and with more roots than in the past. Outhouse is not working
Donna is a great leader, always checking in with others to see how they are doing. Beautiful day in the mountains
A stunning shoulder season traverse with rapidly accumulating snows soon to conceal all signs of the trail (at least up high ;). With the Hurricane Ridge Road closed (for visitor center replacement work) we had the place all to ourselves.
Pleasant fall day for a hike through a river valley. We had the lakes to ourselves.
