Backpacking & Day Hiking
There are a few good treks from the Westside Road trailhead in Mount Rainier National Park. Visit Lake George and then the lookout on top of Gobblers Know, circle Emerald Ridge, or enjoy a stint on the Wonderland Trail to Klapatche Park, all strenuous or harder trips.

Hike along the East Fork Quinault River, one of Olympic National Park's grandest rivers, through a towering mossy rainforest to a deep green valley. It's an easy hike to Pony Bride that spans the river and a very strenuous day hike or easy backpack thru a cathedral-like forest to a meadow in a large alpine cirque surrounded by 3000-foot cliffs and the historic Enchanted Valley Chalet. From the chalet, head to Lake LaCrosse or Anderson Glacier.

Day Hiking
Starting at historic English Camp on San Juan Island, this easy 3.9 mile hike follows a shoreside trail on Bell Point before ascending 600 feet to reach the summit of Young Hill with an outstanding view of the island.
Backpacking
The trail system around the headwaters of the Entiat River and neighboring Entiat Mountains offer options for miles of wandering and wild, uncrowded camping among meadows, lakes and snowy peaks, framed in the fall by golden larch. Options for exploration include Entiat Meadows, Ice Lakes, Larch Lakes and Fifth of July Mountain.

Cross-country Skiing
Enjoy easy cross-country ski loop or out-and-back tours with minimal elevation gain. The trails start at the Crystal Springs Sno-Park and follow forest roads along the Yakima River.
Day Hiking
This is a moderate 7 mi hike with 1,750 ft elevation gain. The trail passes through a basin filled with flowers, then up a rocky slope to views of peaks in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Esmerelda Peaks and Hawkins Mountain at Fortune Creek Pass. Horses may be on the trail and dogs on leash are allowed.

A scenic but strenuous hike to a former lookout site. The trail, though rebuilt, has not been maintained and there are downed logs along the route.

A moderate, 6.4 mile round trip hike with 1,250 feet of elevation gain in Mount Rainier National Park. The trail features alpine forest, flower meadows, a beautiful alpine lake, and a retired fire lookout with a panoramic view.

Visit this 200-acre nature preserve for a gentle or challenging hike. Its four miles of trails vary from mild to steep and travel through woods, meadows, and wetlands which are home to a variety of wildlife. Some of the trails are ADA-accessible.

What better way to enjoy a sea kayak trip than to view wildlife and explore the Everett Esturary Tidal Flats and Jetty Island on this eco paddle. Or paddle further into Possession Sound to Hat Island, officially named Gedney Island.

The campus includes a large network of trails leading to the college's Organic Farm, unspoiled forested areas, and beach on the Puget Sound. They also have climbing walls and a swimming pool that may be reserved.
