Small streams and waterfalls, the Wynoochee River, Wynoochee Lake, old-growth and second growth forests are all part of the experience along this 16 mile loop trail that follows the lake shore.

The Wynoochee Gorge is enshrouded in old growth Big Leaf Maple and Alder dripping with moss. The Upper Gorge is a short class II reach. The Lower Gorge offers class III whitewater and a must make portage.

A scenic float through a basalt canyon east of the Cascades between Cle Elum and Ellensburg. Water released from upstream lakes for irrigation make for good packrafting levels from spring through late summer.

Hike up to eight miles round trip from Buffalo Road on the Yakima Skyline Trail in the L. T. Murray State Wildlife Area. This is some of the best desert hiking in Washington where you'll see lots of wildlife, a full palate of colors produced by blooming flowers in spring, and views of Mount Stuart, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and Mount Hood.

A strenuous, 7.5 mile round trip day hike with 2,550 feet of elevation gain. The trail cuts up steeply, passing through a beautiful wild berry basin halfway up, and onto a prominent butte with panoramic views. Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, Goat Mountain, and the views of the Picket Range are the highlights of this scenic hike.

A strenuous, 10 mile in-and-out day hike with 2,800 feet of elevation gain in the Teanaway. The trail heads up through forests and meadows, opening up views of Mount Rainier.

A steep and direct climbers trail leads to two, fairly short, pitches of mid-5th class rock with a bit of exposure just below the summit. Good views of Icicle Creek valley. Goats occasionally will keep you company and may cause problems. Times: 5 hr trailhead to summit.

Cross-country ski through the spectacular western winter wonderland of Yellowstone National Park. Ski on both skier-tracked and back country trails viewing majestic, historic landscapes that only Yellowstone National Park can offer. Geothermal feature and wildlife sightings are both likely!

The Yelm-Tenino Trail is a paved path between Yelm and Tenino and passing through the town of Rainier. The easy, 3.3-mile loop staring on the Yelm-Tenino Trail in Tenino City Park and returning by the unpaved, wooded Creekside Trail is a great hike.

An excellent area for beginner backcountry skiers or experienced skiers trying to stay out of avalanche terrain on high risk days. A better late-season location.

Yost Park is an urban park located in Edmonds, WA and offers hiking trails through second growth forests of Western red cedar, red alder, big-leaf maple and western hemlock trees. Yost Park is situated along Shell Creek which empties into Puget Sound north of Caspers Street. It connects to Pine Ridge Park via a paved road and an underground tunnel under Main Street.
