Packrafting & Sea Kayaking
Paddle in your sea kayak or packraft along the Sammamish River between Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, passing Kenmore, Bothell, Woodinville, and Redmond. For much of the year this is placid water, but during spring melt off there may be a Class I current.
Bikepacking, Day Hiking, Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
Walk or bike on all or part of the nearly flat, paved path that follows the Sammamish River Trail from Bothell where the Burke-Gilman Trail ends to Marymoor Park.

Sea Kayaking
Sea kayak around an island not frequently visited by power boaters. The southern end is rugged and hosts a Cascadia Marine Trail campsite. Southerly winds can create rough paddling conditions with an opposing current, and there are moderate currents on the east side of Lummi Island and Rosario Strait to the west. Or paddle from Gooseberry Point into the islands in the San Juan Archipelago.
Sea Kayaking
Paddle directly from Anacortes into the islands, or wheel your sea kayak or drive onto the ferry to reach launch points on one of the islands. Trips vary in difficulty and length depending on the launch point and islands visited.
Packrafting
Packraft up to 83 miles of the the Class II-III San Juan River in Bears Ears National Monument, southeast Utah. The scenic red-rock canyon of the “River Flowing From Sunrise” is rich with archaeology, geologic features, hiking opportunities, and wildlife.

Cross-country Skiing & Snowshoeing
Ski or snowshoe away from the crowds and enjoy the views on the forested lower slopes of Mount St. Helens. Depending on your route selection, it's up to 8 miles and 740 feet of elevation gain.
Scrambling
In winter scramble one or both of these peaks in the Cle Elum River and Salmon La Sac area. Consider summiting Not-So-Sasse Peak on the way.
Photography & Urban Adventure
Visit the remains of the unfinished nuclear power plant at the Satsop Business Park near Olympia. In addition to being an active businesses park, it is a training facility and filming location.
Scrambling
Satulick Mountain is a scramble of 13 miles with 3,750 feet of gain.
Day Hiking
Hike a trail that begins on private land and then enters a national forest. Climb steadily through balsamroot and lupine, as well as bluebells, phlox, and a myriad other wildflowers, depending on the season. This trail is Available thanks to the generosity of Leonard Sauer, who is often there and loves to chat, this steep trail is a birding and botanizing paradise.
Day Hiking
An easy, 4.2-mile round trip day hike with 1,190 feet of elevation gain. The trail switchbacks up through meadows with continuous views of the Sauk River.

Packraft an intimate, remote, and beautiful river section in the North Cascades near Glacier Peak and the Mountain Loop Highway.
Packrafting
A long, moderate, and beautiful river section with enough water flow to paddle throughout the year. This river section in the North Cascades near the Mountain Loop Highway has options for river runs of 8, 12, 18, and 26 miles.

A classic Class III+ river section in the North Cascades near Glacier Peak and the Mountain Loop Highway. It can be run most of the year.
Climbing
Climb one or both of these rock pinnacles, rated 5.4 and 5.5, respectively. They are located to the east of Flapjack Lakes in Olympic National Park. The 17-mile round-trip journey with 5,500 feet of elevation gain, leads to technical rock climbing routes on these two and the other spires of Sawtooth Ridge between Mount Cruiser and Mount Lincoln.
Day Hiking
A former homestead and now wildlife area in south Thurston County that is on a glacial outwash and features a prairie ecosystem, an Oregon White Oak forest a riparian forest, wetlands, and two walking loops. Parts of this area are open to hunting.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
A very strenuous, steep, and popular hike or backpack in the Methow Valley near Twisp. It's 9.2 miles round trip with 3,800 feet of elevation gain. In the fall enjoy the golden larches.
Scrambling
Scramble to three high peaks in the Wenatchee Mountains north of Cle Elum.
