It is the largest museum in the United States and honors the legacy of immigrants from the five Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. It has preserved collections and provided educational and cultural experiences since its founding in 1980.

Sun Valley is a cross country skiing mecca surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Rocky Mountains. From a comfortable base near Ketchum, you can ski a different groomed trail each day on its 124 miles of groomed trails.

Nordic day skiing options are almost unlimited when based in the Lake Louise and Canmore areas of the Canadian Rockies, and the ski tracks and trails take you to beautiful alpine lakes, stunning mountain scenery, or through peaceful forests, on a variety of trail types.
Scrambling
A winter or spring snow scramble that is 8 miles round trip with 2,900 feet of elevation gain near the Crystal Mountain Ski Area. Consider scrambling Kahuna Peak with Norse Peak or on its own. From the summit of both peaks, enjoy views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount Stuart, Slide Mountain, Castle Mountain, and many others.

Walk through the center of Seattle's historic Beacon Hill with stunning overlooks and great views in all directions.
Located near the Redmond tech corridor, this community center offers five rooms for events, meetings, and courses.The center also has a banquet hall.
Stewardship
This ranger station's conference hall is used for our Citizen Science training and education programs. It may also be used as a meeting place for stewardship activities and training.
North Cascades Hostel is a great and affordable place to stay in Winthrop. The Hostel includes a full kitchen, bathroom, fire place, and 20 beds. You can rent the whole lodge, a cabin, or just a single bed.

An easy hike along a paved trail through the green belt of North Creek near Everett and Mill Creek. The hike includes wetlands, ponds, and an observation deck.

A beautiful summit in close proximity to Longmire with commanding views of the south side of Mount Rainier and the Tatoosh Range. during the winter, spring, and early summer this peak can offer a great opportunity to practice and appreciate the safety afforded by rope team travel.

A Grade III climb in the North cascades near Washington Pass that is six pitches of mostly sustained 5.9-5.9+ climbing on excellent rock. It is known for its burly 3-4" crack on Pitch 4.

Backpacking, Bikepacking, Day Hiking & Naturalist
Explore a riparian corridor and canyon, rich with wildlife—upland birds, large and small mammals, hibernating ladybugs—and wildflowers in late spring and early summer. This uncrowded trail is open most of the year and spends nearly equal time in the Asotin Wildlife Area and the Umatilla National Forest.
A campground in the Cowlitz Valley on the North Fork of the Cispus River near Randle and Packwood. There are three group sites, Elk, Bear, and Beaver, in addition to main campground. Several trails start at the campground.

Enjoy the beauty of Entiat Mountains as we backpack the 26 mile with 4000 elevation gain lollipop loop. The trail takes us to Fern lake, then continue to Cardinal Peak meadows, to Pyramid Mountain trail.

Hike along one of the major river valleys that winds deep into the heart of the Olympic wilderness until it joins with the Elwa River trail in the high alpine country at Low Divide. Walk among massive Sitka Spruce, giant Western Hemlocks and corridors of mossy maples that line the trail. This is the southern portion of the Press Expedition and the Bailey Range Traverse. There are some good peaks to scramble from Low Divide and along the Skyline Trail.

An 11 mile hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain though old growth forest along the North Fork Sauk River in the Glacier Peak Wilderness.

The trail follows the North Fork of the Skokomish River through old growth forests and up to lakes with great views of the Olympics. There are many options and multiple side trips allowing for easy to strenuous day hikes or a moderate backpack. Destinations include Spike Camp, Flapjack Lakes, Big Log Camp and Black & White Lakes, Camp Pleasant, Home Sweet Home, and Lake LaCrosse.
Day Hiking
Hike a longer loop or shorter out-and-back in the ponderosa pine country south of Cle Elum. It's not really wilderness, and there are not any grand views or dramatic terrain, but these same reasons may help you escape the hordes. Motorcycles make this an unpleasant area for hiking, except during two brief windows when they are not allowed and the trail is accessible: May and October. Go in May for early flowers, sunshine and the smell of ponderosa pine. Go in October for the fall colors.
