Weekend of camping and exploring on the south slopes of Mount St Helens.
Lover's Lane climb in optimal, stable conditions with great weather.
140 people had a super fun Saturday morning at the CHS-2025 kick-off. Full of humor, networking, Q&A, and learning more about the adventures to come with CHS-1 and CHS-2. Can't wait to meet more participants on future outings!
Great day with great group! Road was bumpy but snow clear to trailhead. We lucked out with weather; no precipitation and some sun. Did the clockwise loop and Martin at the end. Was perfect snow conditions. Some blowdowns, minimal brush brashing but not bad and all thought the trip was better then advertised, though admittedly no views. Good winter/spring trip.
Mountaineers group of 7, sunny, 35 degrees, no wind, made for a perfect day. The trails were clear, unobstructed, and well marked.
Good conditioning hike for a steady upward gain & aerobic workout on well maintained trails
A slower paced trip to West Tiger 1 by less traveled trails
9.5 mi, approx 2500 ft gain
Trail workers have cleared the trail since late Feb wind storm.
A fun and beautiful trip around Squaxin on a beautiful early spring day.
True Winter scramble - Ice Axe, Helmet, Spikes. Trip to a fire lookout and a peak in the same trip!
Beautiful day in the mountains- despite "heavy, wet and deep snow" in the Teanaway region
Fabulous group of 12 journeyed to Olallie and Talapus Lakes from Exit 47. We encountered snow and ice from the Pratt-Olallie junction and everyone appreciated having microspikes and poles. A barred owl, varied thrushes, Pacific wrens, ravens, and Canada jays added to the enjoyment.
Lovely early season weather at Vantage!
An easy class 2 run with one class 3 rapid and another class 2+ rapid at 1930 CFS on the McKenna gauge. Easy shuttle with lots of parking both at the put-in and the take-out.
Spring skiing isn't unheard of late February and early March in the PNW as our group worked through shedding the layers of winter while soaking up the changing angle of the sun. Lost Lake is just off the freeway but appears like a trip to the craters of the moon.
At 1940 CFS a fun level, fairly quick moving. 1200-1500 is probably the sweet spot for this reach with the most fun play spots and clean lines.
We walked a scenic loop route on Queen Anne including many of the Parks and historic neighborhoods . The route had viewpoints of downtown Seattle , Mt. Rainier , Magnolia , Elliot Bay , and the Olympics.
City of Newcastle TH to Cougar Mtn Park for our 4th conditioning hike. Brief stop at new Ford Slope Mine kiosk for a bit of history.
Glorious blue bird day scramble of Mount Margaret.
