Turn around at about 5100' level due to hard snow and no crampons.
Trip cancelled due to closure of Deception Falls facilities for 2019
Hiked East to West. A few minor patches of snow on the trail and some mud, but the trail was in pretty good shape.
We began from the gravel parking lot, summited Rock Candy Mountain, and rather than coming right back down and doing an out-and-back hike, we took the Army Road to the Army Road Tie Trail to the Rock Candy Mountain Trail to loop back to the parking lot.
A fun early-season alpine climb near Washington Pass.
A great day for a paddle. Everyone had a great day.
Solid crew however the weather just wasn't cooperating.
Beautiful/strenuous loop of Emerald Ridge by way of the tumultuous stream bed/abandoned trail of Tahoma Creek.
Three day trip in the North west area of Olympic National Park. From the Sol Duc TH to attempt Boulder Peak, with base camp at Boulder Creek Camp Ground.
Lovely evening for a walk in the woods.
Nice hike, cloudy skies but no rain, six hikes completed the hike.
It was the first day hike I have done with the organization. It was great, nice pace and nice group of members.
Climbed the snow gully, and descended the south ridge. Wore crampons from car to summit. Post hole conditions for the hike down. 11 hrs RT with 5 basic course students.
Successful trip up Big Snagtooth via the West Ridge, with snow between the trailhead/ cars to just short of the saddle between Willow and Big Snagtooth.
Excellent and highly recommended trip for Snow FT for student to spend a day learning and a day testing their mettle on the active volcano.
