Canceled due to conditions
We took the opportunity of forecast strong winds to go out and paddle in rough conditions.
You'd think we would know better than to venture out into a winter storm. But at least the Falls were fantastic.
A hike that had a bit of everything - from rain, to sleet, to snow, to fog - the moon finally peeked out at us once we reached the top of Poo Poo Point's southern lookout, where we found fresh snow aplenty.
This was a great advanced intermediate 12 mile ski on the Thompson Ridge trails.
The hike was three loops in four parks on Capitol Hill including historical areas . We also hiked to Union Bay and took photos of our hikers under a tree with three Bald Eagles. We experienced no rain.
Good skiing had at alternate destination
Planned hike to Murat's Bridge in rainy weather. Large tree has fallen across the trail hindering access
Bacon and Canadian Bacon GL climb
Basic snowshoe course field trip. Group of 6 instructors (3 equivalency candidates) and 4 students traveled to Grace Lakes on a snowy day, with breaking trail up and back. 3-4 inches new snow fall during the day, pretty steady 26 deg. temp, wind varied with exposure from calm to 12+ mph.
A fine though windy trip. Destination changed from Panorama Point to Mazama Ridge due to high winds, low visibility, and higher chance of wind slab accumulations. Ice axes were definitely necessary on this trip.
Although posted as a winter scramble, this could easily be done as an Intermediate snowshoe. Lovely even with very few views.
Due to low snow conditions at Snoqualmie pass, we went to Crystal instead. Snow and weather condions proved unexpectedly enjoyable.
Surprisingly great snow conditions and even sunny skies at the top of Amabilis.
Great views with a variety of snow conditions throughout the day (from cold and powdery, to warm and wet). A surprisingly good day for this ~9 mile, ~4400’ gain trip.
Great snow and weather conditions in Mt Rainier NP
