Our group was prepared for the forecasted heat with plenty of water. We took regular rest stops to rehydrate and also took advantage of copious shady areas. Back to the parking lot around 1pm.
An intrepid group of 11-12 year old kids backpacked to O'Neil Creek camp (8 miles one way), day hiked to the Enchanted Valley Chalet (14 miles round trip) and then back to the trailhead on day 3. It was during the record breaking 100F weather, but the glacier-fed Quinault River kept us cool and fed refreshing river breezes.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights exploring the Navaho Pass area and surrounding peaks. Despite very hot temperatures and lots of bugs, we enjoyed delightful 360 degree views of the area and lots of beautiful wildflowers.
never hiked this before. Sometime again I will hike this trail.
A relaxing and fun 5 days of bright sunshine in our beautiful San Juan Islands! Photo credit: Terry Jaret
Warm weather trip with a fantastic group. Gale force gusts turned us around at the top of the Roman Wall.
Successful hike to Ranger Falls and Green Lake, Mt. Rainier National Park. This hike was offered through Tacoma's Conditioning Hiking Series class.
A perfect, beautiful, incredible day, lots of fun and camaraderie!
3 Day private climb of Mount Terror (6/20/21-6/22/21).
Encountered heavy snow on trail at about 1 mile. Snow became eventually 1- 3 feet deep. Forced to turn around at about 3.6 miles due to a major stream crossing.
Close up views of Del Campo, Gothic Peak, Vesper, Sperry and others. Steep snow and areas of exposed scrambling during this time of the year.
Stunning solitary views on the SW aspect of Mount Rainier. A two day journey to 8000’ on the Success Cleaver.
Great group and good weather, but a very very crowded weekend at Baker Lake prevented a true wilderness experience.
This is a well-maintained and busy trail to a pretty lake with some camping. With fine weather, expect to see a lot of people and dogs.
