Fisher Chimneys with the more technical SE Ridge finish was a very bold trip for 2 brand new climbers, it took longer than expected. However, excellent weather and generous trip planning made this a very successful outing with abundant learning opportunities.
It was the best of climbs, it was the worst of climbs...
Excellent scramble of Pinnacle and Plummer (we skipped Denman due to heat and smoke).
Clockwise circumnavigation of Anderson Island to satisfy the requirements of the Olympia Branch South Sound Islands paddle pin.
Excellent hike, it was a beautiful lake. Everybody in the group were awesome. Picked some abundant wild blueberries along the trail.
An after hours scramble up the Open Book scramble route of Little Si
Great route, but strenous and technically challenging. Strongly recommend only small parties (eg 3-4) with screened participants. Highly recommend high camp (above the Fisher Chimneys, either above or below Winnie's Slide).
Beautiful day in this uncrowded, wonderful place!
Great trip via Pilchuck East Ridge and Bathtub Lakes. Start from Pinnacle Lake TH and car drop at Pilchuck TH.
Everybody seemed satisfied and it turned out to be a very nice day to be on the water. Photo credit: Melissa Romeo
Starting at the Pratt Lake trailhead, a 3 day, 2 night backpacking trip to Island Lake (1 night) and Pratt Lake (1 night) while exploring Rainbow Lake and Lower Tuscohatchie Lake.
This is a one-way hike to four lakes , starting at Stevens Pass , and ending at the Tunnel Creek TH .The car shuttle went well , and cooler weather made hiking enjoyable. This was hiking on the PCT , with finish on the Tunnel Creek Trail .
South Slope Route has no problems and small crevasses. However, when looking at the glacier from the summit, there are obvious sags that may soon open up.
Tipsoo Lake, Sheep Lake, wildflower meadows, and stunning vistas along the PCT.
Pleasant evening for dinner with a view.
We had a fun hike to Grand Prospect, where we did a yoga practice to stretch and relax before heading back down the trail.
Mt Hinman via necklace valley.
This is a unique riverine tidal estuary with much peace and many birds. Protected water, river current could matter if spring runoff. End summer, no problem with that. Just really different than the usual saltwater Paddle.
Good weather and good company on Jackita Ridge.
