Beautiful day, great weather. We decided to try going up the old Mason Lake trail. Not recommended for anyone that does not like scrambling or route finding or taking more time. I found it to be a nice adventure, but definitely not worth coming down that route. The Summit views were awesome, from Baker to Adams. Good views of the Snoqualmie area peaks also, I'm still confused why "Putrid Pete" is in the trip description since this is a hike listing. "Ira Spring Trailhead with various destinations" would be a better listing. Putrid Pete's Peak is a scramble peak requiring route finding and should not be lumped with hke listings.
Church Creek to Satsop trailhead, end to end and back again. Switchbacking up and down steep old growth slopes next to sheer chasms.
Challenging and scenic with plenty of solitude- but be ready for heat, sun, lots of blowdowns, overgrown brush, and dust!
This was a pleasant Sunday morning scramble and four students successfully completed their final rock scramble.
Clockwise loop with side trip to Third Burroughs, 12.2 miles, 3700' elevation gain.
Beautiful weather and a great crew made for a fabulous summer-is-winding-down, overnight trip with three summits attained.
Seven Mountaineers complete a 13-day, 158 mile thru-hike of Wyoming's Wind River Range.
2-day climb using the "tunnel" variation after Long John Tower.
This ~10 mile hiking excursion has some great destinations. The waterfalls just kept getting better and better. The rainforest of Rainier is awe-filling! This was a mixture of beautiful switchback climbs through the woods that got the heart pumping and the layers peeling off then strolling along a flat gravel road giving time to stare up at the huge trees without fear of stumbling. The last bit had us traversing over the River bed comfortably on a series of recent man-made bridges with hand rails and included a peek-a-boo of Mt Rainier’s peak. Easy and varied hike.
A well-bolted 5 pitch 5.10b sport route that is a fantastic alternative to Tooth Fairy when it’s busy
mellow scramble on a nice day
A warm September evening for a hike in a forest.
Two glorious days to celebrate the end of summer and welcome the coming of fall. The days were dry, mostly sunny, and just shy of 70º. Our group was very compatible and the scenery is magnificent.
