Explore private Herron Island just offshore of Key Peninsula in the South Sound on a 6-mile hike along country roads, trails, and rocky beaches. Enjoy views of Case Inlet and Haley's Lagoon. Accessible by private ferry only with authorized guest passes.
Day Hiking
Hex Mountain is a strenuous, 7 mile round trip day hike with 2,600 ft in elevation gain. The trail ascends steeply from the shores of Cle Elum Lake through forests to the top of the mountain.
Backcountry Skiing & Snowshoeing
Hex Mountain is a somewhat difficult, 7 mile round trip snowshoe hike or backcountry ski tour with 2,600 feet in elevation gain. The trail is through forests and often steep, ending in panoramic views of Cle Elum Lake.
Day Hiking
A moderate hike of 2.6 miles round trip and 850 feet of elevation gain to a lookout off Highway 2 just beyond the town of Index.
This moderately difficult 4 mile hike includes 1200' elevation gain. Meeting in the town of Index, we access Heybrook Ridge via Lewis Creek Road, starting at the Galena gate. 750+ meters of this hike include bushwhacking through dense vegetation and other terrain obstacles, which will require you to occasionally use both hands for balance, and to test where you are stepping.
Scrambling
Hibox Mountain is a scramble of 8 miles with 3,900 feet of gain.
Sea Kayaking
A 160-acre lake in Lacey that is a popular for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. There is a public boat launch with two toilets.

A scramble of 9 miles with 3,300 feet of elevation gain off of the Cascade River Road in North Cascades National Park.
Snowshoeing
An moderate snow shoe trip with an elevation gain of 900 ft. Explore Lost Lake, and enjoy views of Stevens Canyon, Lake Louise, Faraway Rock, and Reflection Lake.
Day Hiking
A short, moderately steep hike of 3.2 miles round trip and 1,350 feet elevation gain. Although the lookout is no longer staffed, it is one of the few remaining fire lookouts in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The most prominent point along the Sawtooth Ridge, High Rock rewards you with spectacular panoramic views that include Mount Rainier and the Tatoosh Range peaks. This is also a popular sunrise hike.
Climbing
Climbing Mount Whitney and Mount Russell in the High Sierra via the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek trail is a challenging endeavor, involving a strenuous 20+ mile round trip with an elevation gain of over 6,000 feet. Along the route, climbers will traverse landmarks like Lower and Upper Boy Scout Lakes, Iceberg Lake, and the Whitney-Russell saddle, experiencing breathtaking alpine scenery, rugged granite peaks, and panoramic views that make the journey uniquely rewarding.

Highchair Mountain & Bootjack Mountain is a scramble of 12 miles with 5,400 feet of elevation gain.

Higher Squire is a winter scramble with 3,069 feet of gain.
Cross-country Skiing & Snowshoeing
A winter's hidden gem near Tonasket tucked into the Okanogan Highlands, with 36+ km of trails beautifully groomed for classic, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. There are trails of all difficulty levels, though most on this route are considered most difficult.
Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
The Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden covers 10.5 acres of display gardens, woodlands, and trails reclaimed from a suburban brownfield.
North-central Costa Rica is a paradise for exploring and photographing colorful resident birds, unique migrating birds, tropical flowers and animals, monkeys, colorful moths and the lush vegetation of the rain forest. Then explore Tortuguero National Park in the Caribbean Watershed, to see turtles laying their eggs and the eggs hatching. And visit the picturesque Arenal Volcano National Park and thermal hot-springs in a tropical rain forest and discover the cooler temperatures of a cloud forest as you explore Bojos del Toro. In Costa Rica, photographic opportunities abound endlessly.

Chile's Lakes District offers adventurers many opportunities for exploration and excitement from volcano summits to rainforest walks past remote lakes to floats down whitewater rivers, all with the chance to end an active day with a handmade dinner with a local Mapuche family, as well as gread food, fine wine and a soak in one of the region's many natural hot springs. Our trip was made possible by a local Chilean outfitter Andres from PatagoniaSouthernLand Expeditions who went FAR above and beyond building in cultural exeriences and finding local guides for the various volcanoes that I wanted to hike.
