Tolmie State Park

Located on the Nisqually Reach north of Olympia, this dog-friendly park contains several interconnecting trails that wind through cedar groves, down a ravine, along a bluff with views of Puget Sound, and to the Nisqually Reach spit where you can walk on the beach. The park is CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays.

A 574-acre park located in the Carnation and the Snoqualmie Valey at the confluence of the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers. A 500-foot suspension foot bridge that crosses the Snoqualmie River. Enjoy views of the Cascade foothills and, in the fall, spawning salmon, eagles and osprey. Amenities include RV, container, tent, and yurt camping, picnic shelters, a beautifully restored barn that can be rented for events, grass ball fields and trails for hiking and mountain biking.

A gravel and dirt trail with some steep grades and some road detours that runs 14 miles between Bothell and Duvall alongside Seattle's Tolt Water Pipeline. It is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders and offers views of Seattle and the Cascades. Its east and west ends are near the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and the Sammamish River and Burke Gilman Trails.

A moderately strenuous 35+ mile, 5+ day loop backpack with 4,000+ of elevation gain over trail and well-traveled routes in the part of Canada known as the "Patagonia of the North." Follow the Grizzly, Divide, and Talus Lakes and Glissade Pass loop to be among spectacular spire-like mountain ranges, boreal forests, tundra, rivers and lakes with abundant northern wildlife and wild berries in season. Late August and early September are special times for intense fall colors and viewing northern lights across the tundra. There are exceptional opportunities for all interests including natural history, wildlife viewing, tundra and boreal forest botany, and nature photography.

In the Mount Baker Wilderness, the 4-mile trail to Tomyhoi Lake climbs steadily to Gold Run Pass with views of American Border Peak and Canadian Border Peak. It's 2 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation gain to the pass, and another 2 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation loss to the lake. The Gold Run Mining Company workers built this trail in the early 1900s.
