Located on the Nisqually Reach north of Olympia, this dog-friendly park contains several interconnecting trails that wind through cedar groves, down a ravine, along a bluff with views of Puget Sound, and to the Nisqually Reach spit where you can walk on the beach. The park is CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays.

A 574-acre park located in the Carnation and the Snoqualmie Valey at the confluence of the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers. A 500-foot suspension foot bridge that crosses the Snoqualmie River. Enjoy views of the Cascade foothills and, in the fall, spawning salmon, eagles and osprey. Amenities include RV, container, tent, and yurt camping, picnic shelters, a beautifully restored barn that can be rented for events, grass ball fields and trails for hiking and mountain biking.

A gravel and dirt trail with some steep grades and some road detours that runs 14 miles between Bothell and Duvall alongside Seattle's Tolt Water Pipeline. It is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders and offers views of Seattle and the Cascades. Its east and west ends are near the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and the Sammamish River and Burke Gilman Trails.

A moderately strenuous 35+ mile, 5+ day loop backpack with 4,000+ of elevation gain over trail and well-traveled routes in the part of Canada known as the "Patagonia of the North." Follow the Grizzly, Divide, and Talus Lakes and Glissade Pass loop to be among spectacular spire-like mountain ranges, boreal forests, tundra, rivers and lakes with abundant northern wildlife and wild berries in season. Late August and early September are special times for intense fall colors and viewing northern lights across the tundra. There are exceptional opportunities for all interests including natural history, wildlife viewing, tundra and boreal forest botany, and nature photography.

Enjoy grand sound and island views and view of Mount Baker following the Tommy Thompson Trail along the Fidalgo shoreline in Anacortes. Also Walk into Old Town to enjoy majestic buildings and public art.

In the Mount Baker Wilderness, the 4-mile trail to Tomyhoi Lake climbs steadily to Gold Run Pass with views of American Border Peak and Canadian Border Peak. It's 2 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation gain to the pass, and another 2 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation loss to the lake. The Gold Run Mining Company workers built this trail in the early 1900s.

The Southeast Route on Tomyhoi Peak is a moderate but technically challenging, exposed scramble with 12.5 miles of travel and 5,000 feet of elevation gain.

The Tongue Point Marine Sanctuary is the eastern-most open rock intertidal habitat in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Sea life in the tidepools is only visible during low tide unless you are scuba diving.

Backpack in one of the most exceptional scenic backcountry and wildlife-rich areas in the Canadian Rockies, Jasper National Park. Enjoy stunning scenery along Astoria River, Tonquin Valley lakes and Rampart peaks, Moat Lake, Eremite Valley and more on hikes from camps into spectacular mountain valley and passes. Plan a leisurely to moderate pace for opportunities to study nature and take photographs.

The western most inlet of the South Sound Inlets in Puget Sound. It is nine nautical miles long with extensive tidelands at the south end, which makes it an interesting place to sea kayak.  Like Eld Inlet, Totten Inlet has an extensive shellfish aquaculture along its tidelands.  Like most north/south-oriented inlets, strong south to southwest winds can result in growing wave heights.

Explore Anatolia in its many layers: A Neolithic archaeological site; ancient rock-cut monasteries and churches in a dramatic gorge; an underground civilization cut from the rock; a Seljuk caravanserei. Witness a Sufi Whirling Dervish Ceremony. Wander among one of a kind limestone 'fairy chimneys'. Climb a 10,000+-foot volcano with broad views across the Anatolian plain (optional non-technical climb).

A strenuous 17 mile, 6,100 feet elevation gain scramble located at the head of the Foss Lakes. It towers above the northwest side of Chetwoot Lake and is one of the higher peaks in the middle of the Alpine Lakes wilderness.

Tower Mountain shares a ridge with nearby Golden Horn. As evident from its name the peak's rock has a striking golden color as well as beautiful golden larches during the fall. This mountain offers great views of the Pasayten Wilderness, the Washington Pass area and the Glacier Peak Wilderness.

Townsend Mountain is a moderate alpine scramble of 9 miles and 3,800 ft of elevation gain in the Wild Sky Wilderness. This route starts from the Barclay Lake Trail near the town of Baring on Highway 2 on the west slopes of the Cascades.

This open-sided shelter near the High Point Way/Tradition Lake trailhead can seat a group of approximately 25 people.

A short, easy 0.7-mile loop with minimal elevation gain at Longmire in Mount Rainier National Park. It's a perfect outing for kids and families any time of the year.

A strenuous scramble about 1.25 miles northeast of Mount Garfield with panoramic views of the Taylor River and several lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
