The classic intermediate whitewater run in Seattle's backyard. The main run from Mine Creek to Tanner offers 6 named class III rapids that push class IV in higher water.

Canyoning & Packrafting
Typically used as training grounds for whitewater paddlers, this is a good spot, when the water is at a reasonable level, to practice whitewater swimming techniques for canyoneering. There are several access points with large calm pools.
Backcountry Skiing, Climbing, Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding & Scrambling
In the winter there is groomed resort skiing and access to some fantastic backcountry ski routes. In late winter and early spring the slopes are perfect training grounds for practicing ice axe arrest and other snow travel techniques. Area includes Summit West, Summit Central, and Summit East.
Bikepacking, Day Hiking, Trail Running, Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
A crushed rock surface trail on an old railroad bed with a slight grade that runs nearly 32 miles from Duvall to Rattlesnake Lake. With many entry and exit points along the way you can make this a short, medium or long hike. It's part of the King County Regional Trails System and takes you past working farms in a beautiful agricultural valley.

An easy day hike to the 449-foot tall Snoquera Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. It's 3.8-mile loop with 750 feet of elevation gain.

A moderate day hike near Greenwater with a few viewpoints along the way. It's 8.4 miles with 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
Backpacking, Day Hiking & Scrambling
Snow Lake is a moderate, 6 mile round trip hike with 1,300 feet of elevation gain. The trail goes up above the South Fork Snoqualmie River through forests and over a pass to a beautiful alpine lake. Beyond Snow Lake lie Gem lakes and Wildcat Lakes. There are numerous waterfalls, pika habitats, and once you get past Snow Lake, the crowd dwindles dramatically. For the ambitious, consider a one-way trip that includes some off-trail scrambling and visits Chair Peak and Melakwa Lakes.
Cross-country Skiing, Day Hiking & Snowshoeing
Ski or snowshoe in winter, or hike or mountain bike in summer to one of the huts in the Mount Tahoma Trails Association's South District. These huts are south of Ashford just outside of Mount Rainier National Park. Make it a day trip or enjoy an overnight at one or more the huts. Reservations are required for overnight hut stays.
Climbing
Climb Outer Space (5.9), Orbit (5.8+) or White Slabs (5.7) on the popular Snow Creek Wall in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Leavenworth.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
A strenuous 13 mile round trip hike with 4,220 feet of elevation gain into The Enchantments to visit Snow Lakes and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Savor the views of The Temple to the north, McClellan Peak to the south and the faint smell of mosquito repellant.

An area nearly encircled by Cowiche Mill Road with a network of just over 20 miles of trails built, maintained and owned by the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy. Combine trails to make an out-and-back or loop of you choosing in a beautiful setting with potential for viewing wildlife and flowers in the right season.

A 6.4-mile hikes with 1,275 feet of elevation gain across rolling terrain brings you to a unique cabin in eastern Washington.
Climbing
A steep and strenuous approach leads to exposed 3rd class scrambling to the summit. The scenery and views from camp to summit are usually described as "SPECTACULAR". Good scramble skills required. Many reports of bugs. Times: 4-6 hr trailhead to camp, 4-6 hr camp to summit.
Backpacking, Day Hiking & Scrambling
Many believe that the Goat Rocks Wilderness is one of the top prizes of the Washington Cascades. It certainly is a view extravaganza. Hike out-and-back, hike a loop, or scramble Old Snowy Mountain or Ives Peak in the Goat Rocks Wilderness. Trips ranging from 8-16 miles and to Snowgrass Flat, Goat Lake, and Hawkeye Point are all challenging hikes that reward with wildflowers and views.
Backcountry Skiing
Snowking Mountain is a strenuous, 12 mile backcountry ski tour with 5,000 feet in elevation gain. The trail follows a ridge up to the peak. There is high avalanche potential.
Climbing & Scrambling
A great early season snow scramble. With 12 miles of travel and 6,800 feet of elevation gain, this is a long and challenging scramble.
